DAIS students' volunteering visit to better village primary education

The Dhirubhai Ambani International School, BKC, Mumbai sent their 65 students of 7th grade A & B divisions to LSF on 11th Jan 2014 to volunteer with village primary school students. As part of the Early Learners Development Program (ELDP) Learning Space team designed an activity book for village children to learn alphabets and paint into pictures of objects, animals and shapes relating to each alphabet. This activity book was distributed to 300 children in 9 Zilla Parishad schools associated with the LS center, and the DAIS students worked and played with the village children in a 2 hrs. session from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Such volunteering programs are highly constructive for students on both sides as they serve to sensitize and create a sense of sharing privileges and learning about different environments.
